Muscat, Sultanate of OMAN, 13th November, 2014M – The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman announced today that it awarded Kratos Integral Systems Europe (Kratos ISE) a contract for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the Advanced Space Radio Monitoring System (ASRMS). The System is intended to help the Sultanate of Oman police the satellite spectrum used in the country.

Satellite spectrum, a significant national asset, can be subject to unauthorized usage, interference and other threats. To counter the threat, Kratos ISE will deliver its integrated GeoMon solution to the TRA. GeoMon provides a unique set of fixed, mobile and airborne tools to monitor and geolocate satellite radio frequency transmissions. It will include seven earth stations covering L/C/KU/X/Ka frequency bands. Operations are automated for LEO and GEO satellites in all bands. Facilities preparation and infrastructure for the SRMS will be built by Kratos ISE’s partner in the Sultanate of Oman, Zajel Communications LLC.

“The Kratos solution has been selected because of Kratos’ extensive experience in the arena of space radio monitoring systems," said Yousuf Al-Balushi, Vice President for Spectrum Management Affairs for TRA. "The SRMS will enable us to better manage the satellite spectrum used in the Sultanate and provide for improved cooperation with other telecommunications regulatory agencies."

"We look forward to working with TRA on this new project," said Bruno Dupas, President of Kratos ISE. “The GeoMon solution will provide TRA with a unique combination of fixed, mobile and airborne solutions to supervise satellite communications transmitted from their country and better control the usage of the satellite spectrum.”
